PURPOSE BUILT SETTING

Our spacious, purpose-built, air-conditioned building offers the highest levels of comfort throughout the year. Children have access to child-sized toilets and sinks, with a separate changing area and nappy station. The pre-school has a fully equipped kitchen and a quiet room where small group learning can take place.

There are two outside areas, a natural garden and our main playground which the children can access throughout the day, whatever the weather. Both areas are fenced, gated and secure. Part of the main playground is covered so the fun can continue outside during all weathers. The building and outside areas can be accessed via ramps and steps, and all doors and gates are wide in width.

Our team will ensure that all children reach their full potential through fun and imaginative continuous provision and tailored adult-led sessions which encapsulate the seven areas of learning set out in the Early Years Foundation Stage.

EARLY YEARS FOUNDATION STAGE

The EYFS is a legal mandatory framework which provides a set of requirements that all Early Years providers adhere to. The framework is in place to ensure that all children who attend our provision are kept safe and healthy, and that they are fully supported to learn and develop to their full potential.

The EYFS seeks to provide a safe learning environment for all children which is constant and of a high quality, where partnerships with parents and carers are paramount.

How we support your child’s learning and development

There are seven areas of learning and development within the EYFS through which your child will gain knowledge and understanding, and learn new skills. These areas form the basis of our continuous provision and the activities we provide for your child where we will tailor opportunities to meet their individual learning and development needs.

There are two different areas of learning and development, with each area contributing towards that of others.

The three Prime areas are; Communication and Language – Physical Development – Personal, Social, and Emotional Development.

The four Specific areas are; Literacy – Mathematics – Understanding the World – Expressive Arts and Design.

Building confidence in the Prime areas of learning and development is particularly important for children, as it enables them to progress well in the specific areas of learning and development.
